Day Three of Milner Downs

The show started out with a hit of sun..... just a hit... a tease.  And that's about as far as it went.  The weather mimicked the mood of Teesdale as the ambulance showed up for Deborah.  A fall from Esteem resulted in being knocked out completely and a trip to the hospital in the back of an ambulance.  About then the skies opened up and rained.  I'm happy to report that Deborah was fine (though very, very sore and concussed) and was able to looking stunning regardless as she came to the BBQ in the evening.

The rest of Teesdale did well, Pam winning her under saddle and a jumping class.  Lacey was a pretty little girl and did her job wonderfully, as did Pam!

Santa Fe was a very good boy (thanks to the "discussion" he and Marissa had yesterday) and won her 3'3" jumper stake class (oh sure win the money class haha!)  As its been said, when Santa Fe is bad he's horrid, but when he's good he's awesome!!  And yes Marissa did walk around with her ribbon for part of the morning.

Jill had a chance to ride Minuet in the hunters today and pulled off a 2nd and 3rd.  Which was awesome since Jill's never jumped Minuet before! Ally is making a nice recovery and is full of cheek and attitude during her daily walks!

Balou was a good boy doing what I told him to do, though I wasn't sure what I was doing today and managed to wander off course... oops... I guess it had to happen to someone!  I got a 5th in one class and a 4th in the other and of course nothing in the class I went off course in... though I hoped the judge wouldn't have noticed the giant circle I did!  Hahah!

The jump could be 6" higher!
Christine rode Smartie in the Grand Prix today during the BBQ and it was a lot of fun to watch.  First in the ring Christine had a clear round, Smartie jumping wonderfully!  First in the jump off she had 4 faults and ended up 4th in the class.  Smartie was having too much fun and did try to bolt off/buck Christine off during the victory gallop!  Oh silly Smartie!  It was an awesome class, with some good horses, and I think ninety percent of the class were Calgarians!

posing with their ribbon
having too much victory gallop fun!
