Day Four (Last Day) of Milner Downs

A short entry today as I'm really tired, and burnt out from riding in the heat of the day, seems the coast is either raining or hot and humid.  And hot and humid is what it was today!  The last day had us saying good bye to Milner Downs. The horses were tired but still did what we asked them to, performing well for us despite the heat and humidity.

The day started out great with Santa Fe deciding to cooperate and he and Marissa were on fire.  They ended up getting a first in her 3'3" and ending up Reserve Champion of the division!  Deborah of course didn't show and ended up going home today to rest and recooperate at home where she is comfortable.  (Get better soon!) Pam ended the week much better getting a third and Reserve Champion (her second one!)  Lacey was a very good girl finally settling and relaxing into her job! Jill got to ride Minuet again and did well placing 3rd in both her classes.  Smartie had the day off after being a super star yesterday and Balou was awesome as always, and I rode much better today (compared to the last few days where I was being a bit dense!) I got two 5th in my classes.

This was my first away show in a very long time, and it was away far from home.  I would defiantly come back as would everyone else since we're already planning what we are doing next year!  The rings were fun to ride in, the BBQ was delicious, the show commitee was very nice and helpful.  I can't wait for next year!

Now... Thunderbird.
