So the day started out with CB and myself getting up at the crack of dawn... actually about 2 hours before that.. (5:15am) to lunge Minuette and Chemmy. After their flailing yesterday they needed to be persuaded to channel their inner hunter. It seemed to do the trick since Minuette rocked the hunter ring getting a first and two seconds in her classes. I didn't have enough (Chemmy was exhausted) for my first class, got a third in my 3'3 class (YAY!) and we played under saddle quite nicely, though I still need to work on long and low with Chemmy. I also played Road Hack horse, which is a flat class where they ask for weird stuff like easy canter, strong trot and a flat footed walk, the first two I could figure out... but flat footed walk.... wha? I guess its a marching strong walk.... walking with purpose, and not a shuffle or saunter. (and if anyone knows me personally... I thrive on saunter... no wonder I was confused!)
The jumpers had an easy day with Victoria (our photographer and Terryn's support staff) hacking Louis (still waiting for Terryn and CaroleAnn to make an appearance.) and Smartie getting hacked today (saving himself for the Gamblers Choice class tomorrow I think!) Jumpers start for real tomorrow, as does everything else (heavy horses, hackney ponies, western folk, cows, etc)
Time for bed, that 5:15am start this morning was exhausting and I must sleep. Thankfully we get to sleep in tomorrow as they moved the show an hour later in both rings!
:)
(There were photos taken (by Victoria) and as soon as I steal them from her I'll post them here.)
